The Story of the Magical Christmas Socks . . .
“.Growing up as young child filled with dreams and visions of an amazing adventure at Christmas . . . I often found myself filled with great expectations. The bright colored Christmas lights sparkling on our tree, the holly, and candles all seemed to signal that it was the time of year when something special . . .something magical just might happen. I often closed my eyes tightly and imagined what it might be like to take a magical ride with Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. Sounded pretty impossible to me then, but with unabated enthusiasm, I certainly didn’t let that thought stop me. In my mind I could picture the frigid North Pole with its bustling workshop, warmed by a blazing fire, and filled with impish Elves scurrying around quickly to finish all the toys in time for Santa. A large, red sleigh with anxious reindeer waited outside in the snow for Santa . . . and for me . . . of course. Yes, I took great pleasure in imagining a moonlit ride with Santa . . . headed for his workshop, the North Pole, the merry little Elves, and of course, Mrs. Claus, who I imagined baked the best cookies I would ever taste! It was the memories of my childhood and now the enthusiasm for the magic and miracles of Christmas time that I so often see in my granddaughter’s eyes and my daughter’s eyes as well. So here it is . . . a special story from long ago. I hope you will enjoy this Christmas adventure as much as I enjoyed remembering it for you.“
